PUBLICITY CONTACT: MANDI BLOOMER – (541) 510-2129
TAKE YOUR CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD AT BEDTIME

EUGENE – Eugene’s Parent-Child Preschool (EPCP) is pleased to announce its 53rd annual children’s theater production this March.

Performances of Around the World at Bedtime and a Shadow Puppet Play Rainbow Fish, will take place at the United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive in downtown Eugene, Saturday March 13th with shows at 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, and 2:30pm

Around the World at Bedtime joins three siblings for bedtime stories that teach and delight. Two stories are told to–and acted out for–the siblings in a way that sheds light on their own lives and actions. Tales from Japan and Bali will entertain and inspire kids of all ages in this original adaptation of traditional folk tales.

For more than half a century, members of the cooperative preschool have been putting on quality theatre productions in a fun and engaging family environment. Geared toward ages 2-10, this year’s production, adapted and directed by EPCP parent Amary Taylor, features parent-actors, and parent-produced sets and costumes.

“When the preschool began this tradition fifty-three years ago, the community did so in order to provide an experience of the arts for their little ones, and I am excited to be continuing that pursuit. This year we chose to adapt authentic folktales from distant cultures that are both fun and valuable in the lessons they offer. Given the creativity and determination of the EPCP community, I think the play will be engaging for both kiddos and their grown-ups.” Director Amary Taylor.

Rich Glauber, a local children’s musician and EPCP’s music teacher, will perform before each performance. Following, there will be an opportunity for audience members to meet the characters/actors and enjoy activities including food/refreshments, games and prizes, and a silent auction. In addition, there will be an open-house to meet the teachers, visit the classrooms and learn more about the cooperative-style, development-based preschool (ages 2-5).

Advance tickets are $4 per person, or $12 per family pass (four people). Tickets are available from EPCP members , at Kidstuff children’s store on 13th and Oak, or by contacting EPCP at (541) 984-5531 or info@eugeneprechool.org. Tickets are good for all shows (no reservations necessary) and will be available at the door. See http://www.eugenepreschool.org for more information.
